Pete White
Pete White, Councilor (Retired), City of Oklahoma City
Pete White graduated from Southeast High School in 1956. An Army veteran and attorney, he graduated from Oklahoma City University law school in 1972, attending night classes while working for the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. White was an OKC Councilman for Ward 4 from 1982 to 2016. His combined 19 years made him the longest-serving member at that time. Mr. White also chaired the Water Utilities Trust where he guided planning for meeting Oklahoma City’s water needs for decades into the future. During his tenure, the city, state and Chickasaw and Choctaw tribes reached an agreement to manage and share southeastern Oklahoma water resources. Construction will begin soon on a second pipeline — a companion to the 50-year-old Atoka pipeline — to move water to the metro area from southeastern reservoirs. He has served many civic organizations including OKC Metro Alliance Inc. and, in 2018, OKC’s newest senior wellness center was named the Pete White Health and Wellness Center.
